Cleveland has been referred to as the “Forest City.” the “North Coast.” and the “Rock and Roll Capital of the World.” Cleveland is known for its history in music, often referred to as the “birthplace of rock and roll”. The city is located on Lake Erie and is also known for its active culture and art scene, Cleveland Clinic medical center, Cultural and Botanical Gardens, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Playhouse Square.

Day 1

Day 1: Arrival Day, Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, USS Cod Submarine Memorial, International Women’s Air & Space Museum, Welcome Dinner, Ghost Tour

Morning:

Arrival Day! The group departs and travels to Cleveland, Ohio aiming to arrive around midday and having lunch en route. Offering a surprising range of attractions, Cleveland combines major cultural institutions with great food and easy access to the outdoors, all within a city known for its Midwestern hospitality. Welcome!

Afternoon:

Meet your A-Z Travels Tour Guide and check-in to your hotel. This initial period is designated for settling in, as this will be your home base for the duration of the trip. When ready, kick things off with a visit to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame—housing a must-see collection of iconic guitars, costumes, and exhibits, as well as interactive displays and music videos. With time before dinner, check out the USS Cod Submarine Memorial or the International Women’s Air & Space Museum, both of which are located nearby.

Evening:

Tonight your group will enjoy a welcome dinner at a Cleveland classic, Yours Truly Playhouse Square, serving American comfort-food in style. Afterwards, top off the first night of your trip with one of Cleveland’s famous Phantom ghost tours! Explore the city’s darker history in a guided walking tour with your group. Learn all about alleged hauntings, historic battles, and dramatic tales of organized crime. You’ll visit Cleveland landmarks along the way, including the Arcade, Soldiers and Sailors Monument, Connor Palace, and more, all in one spooky night. Finally, head back to your hotel for a much-deserved rest.

Day 2

Day 2: Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Great Lakes Science Center, The Arcade, House of Blues

Morning:

Enjoy breakfast together at your hotel before discovering all the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo has to offer. Students will connect with hands-on programs and interactive exhibits, while exploring diverse habitats with the chance to see incredible wildlife up close. The zoo also offers unique opportunities for students considering career paths in zoology, and helps students understand the vital importance of conservation and the protection of endangered species. When you’re hungry, use a lunch voucher to choose from one of the dining options within the park.

Afternoon:

After lunch, visit the Great Lakes Science Center on the lakefront. It’s packed with interactive experiments, a NASA Glenn Visitor Center featuring genuine artifacts from space exploration (including a real Apollo Command Module) as well as a giant immersive IMAX theater known as the Cleveland Clinic DOME Theater. Here your students can tinker, test, and absorb at their own pace.

Evening:

As the day winds down, venture over to The Arcade and take in this beautiful example of Victorian architecture with an opportunity to browse the shops. Then for a rousing evening, head over to the House of Blues Cleveland. The funky décor, vibrant stage, and Southern-inspired menu make it a fun and atmospheric dining experience. Depending on scheduling, live music or a show may also be available to your group. After dinner, take a relaxed evening stroll around Public Square, lit up beautifully at night with dynamic lighting displays, this popular spot in a central hub of the city. Head back to your hotel for a full night’s sleep.

Day 3

Day 3: Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Cleveland Museum of Art, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, Cleveland Cultural Gardens, Farewell Dinner Cruise

Morning:

Start your morning with breakfast at your hotel and then set out for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Replica dinosaurs, a hands-on fossil lab, and an outdoor wildlife center (with bald eagles and otters) will make for an engaging morning for your students. After, walk next door to the Cleveland Museum of Art to be inspired. See an impressive collection of Asian and Egyptian art as well as fine art and the Armor Court—a space showcasing the full gear of medieval knights. Students will also have access to the interactive Studio Play area where they can create digital art.

Afternoon:

Refuel with lunch at a University Circle café or one of the Italian restaurants in Little Italy before showing your group the Cleveland Botanical Gardens. This gorgeous escape into nature has a variety of outdoor gardens and two indoor glasshouses, one boasting a butterfly-filled rainforest and the other an arid desert. Then, stroll through the Cleveland Cultural Gardens, a peaceful walk celebrating the city’s global spirit.

Evening:

For your final night’s entertainment, head to the docks for a  farewell dinner cruise! This last culinary adventure is a great way to admire Cleveland’s spectacular city skyline and enjoy a scenic and memorable evening out on Lake Erie. Enjoy elegant dining and take lot’s of pictures to celebrate the conclusion of a successful trip. Once docked, make your way back to the hotel for a full night’s rest before your departure the next day.

Day 4

Day 4: Departure Day

Morning:

Greet the day with one last convenient breakfast at your hotel before gathering your group and all belongings and checking out. If time allows, do some last minute souvenir shopping in the area and make sure to stop by one of Cleveland’s famous Script Signs for a photo. When ready, begin your safe journey home.
