Lancaster, Pennsylvania is best known for the Amish. They are a very rural community known for their farming, agriculture and self preservation. A lot of Amish don’t use simple things like electricity and phones although some groups inside the community like the Mennonites make exceptions to some of these rules. Hershey Pennsylvania, is popularly called “Chocolatetown, USA”. Hershey is also referred to as “The Sweetest Place on Earth”.

Day 1

Day 1: Pennsylvania Dutch farm, F/X Theater, Demuth Museum, Echo Dell, Welcome Dinner, Ghost Tour 

Morning – Group arrives in Lancaster, PA where they meet their tour guide at the Mennonite Information Center. Group will enjoy a guided tour of Amish culture, faith and way of living. You will stop by a charming Pennsylvania Dutch farm and house in operation complete with farm animals and fowl. Then, venture to the F/X TheaterJoin Jacob and the Fisher family’s quest to discover what it means to be Amish in this emotional story of Jacob’s choice between family, faith, and community versus the allure of life in the outside world.

Afternoon – The tour concludes with lunch. Your next stop will be the Demuth Museum, the former home and studio of Charles Demuth the famed American watercolorist. Our final stop of the afternoon will be Echo Dell – Indian Echo Caverns.  Have your group enjoy a guided tour that explains the caverns geology and history and shows the beautiful formations of the caverns.

Evening – Group makes their way to the hotel for check in and free time to freshen up. To celebrate your visit to Lancaster, enjoy a welcome dinner at Shady Maple Smorgasbord–the largest buffet in the USA. Here you can feast on deliciously authentic Pennsylvania Dutch cooking and everything from hashbrowns to whoopie pies. The evening concludes with a guided candlelit walking ghost tour! Feel stories from the past eek into the present as you walk the haunted grounds of local legend. Head back to your hotel for a much deserved rest.

Day 2

Day 2: Departure Day, Hershey’s Chocolate World & Hershey Park

Morning – Gather for breakfast at the hotel then check out. Hershey’s Chocolate World, here we come! Stop in to this delicious marketplace specializing in Hershey’s chocolate products. Continue on to the famous theme park built around chocolate– Hershey Park. Enjoy the dozens of attractions, roller coasters and carnival rides.

Afternoon – Pause the fun to indulge in lunch at the park; choose from one of the many eateries, then continue to enjoy all Hershey Park has to offer! Play games, shop the Hershey brand, take pictures with park characters, ride thrill rides or eat more chocolate.

Evening – Begin your safe journey home.
