Morning
Your group travels to their destination: New York, New York—the heart of American fashion. Grab lunch en route to your hotel before meeting with your A-Z Travels Tour Guide for check-in. Take a moment to settle in, as this will be your home base for the duration of your trip. After a short rest, your group will head out to start their adventure.
Afternoon
Your fashion journey begins in the Garment District (also known as the Fashion District), the area of Midtown Manhattan where real-world design happens. Start by Bryant Park—former center of Fashion Week and an iconic place in New York’s fashion history—before walking the Fashion Walk of Fame along Seventh Avenue (Fashion Avenue) between 35th and 41st Streets. As we walk and take in the sites, make sure to look down! Bronze plaques embedded in the sidewalk pay tribute to American design icons like Marc Jacobs and Donna Karan. We’ll also see the Big Button, NY’s 31-foot-tall Needle and Button Sculpture at the intersection of Seventh Avenue and 39th Street. It’s an impressive monument to the craft and a great place for a group photo.
Then, stop over at Mood Fabrics NYC: the ultimate creative stop. Made famous by Project Runway, Mood Fabrics is a multi-story treasure trove of textiles, patterns, and designs. Wander the aisles to take in all the luxurious silks, bold prints, and unique textures. Get inspired and spot fellow designers shopping for their next collections. This is where ideas for your students’ own designs can take flight.
Evening
Before dinner, walk over to the High Line, an elevated park built on a historic freight rail line. It runs through the Chelsea neighborhood, a hub of art and galleries. Pay attention to the street style you see on the High Line and below—the city curates its own living fashion show and a great way to observe current trends in a relaxed setting. Then we’ll get creative with a pick-your-own
Welcome Dinner at a world-famous food hub for locals and visitors alike—Chelsea Market. This colorful space boasts diverse food options perfect for your group’s culinary introduction to the city. After exploring and filling up on your favorite dishes, head back to the hotel for a much-deserved rest!
Day 2: Met Costume Institute, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, MoMa, Hard Rock Cafe
Morning
The Met’s Costume Institute: The Metropolitan Museum of Art houses the world-renowned Anna Wintour Costume Center. Check their current exhibitions, as they frequently feature incredible historical and contemporary high fashion. Seeing garments up close—the stitching, the construction, the materials—is an essential masterclass in design. Then do some designer window shopping along Fifth Avenue before lunch. Peruse styles from the flagship stores of luxury brands like Gucci, Prada, and Dior. This isn’t about shopping per say, but more about observing high-level visual merchandising. The window displays are works of art in and of themselves, conveying a message to a public audience and showcasing the season’s high fashion direction.
Afternoon
Have lunch around Central Park at a classic NYC spot, like a pizza joint, café, or deli. Take some time to relax and enjoy this world-famous urban oasis. After lunch, we’ll explore the Museum of Modern Art’s (MoMA) focus on textiles and fiber art within its broader collection. Here you’ll find that MoMA has a significant collection highlighting the role of textiles in modern and contemporary art and design. This acknowledgment of the rise of fiber art beyond craft is further displayed throughout the Architecture, Design, Painting, and Sculpture departments. After a full afternoon, make your way back to the hotel to freshen up before dinner.
Evening
Take some time to freshen up at your hotel before heading out for a fun and energetic night at the Hard Rock Café. A quintessential NYC experience for students, the décor here is a feast for the eyes and a masterclass in pop culture branding and visual merchandising. Chow down on American classics and see impressive displays of costumes, stage wear, and branded merchandise from rock legends throughout time. Once you’ve eaten and browsed, make your way back to the hotel for a full night’s sleep.
Day 3: FIT Fashion Institute of Technology), FIT Museum, RiseNY, Fashion Gallery, The Museum of Broadway, Farewell Dinner

Have your group start their day with another delicious breakfast, begin your day in the heart of Manhattan’s Fashion District with an exciting visit to the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), one of the world’s leading colleges for fashion, design, business, and technology.
Students will have the opportunity to explore the FIT campus and gain insight into the dynamic world of fashion and creative industries. When available, groups may participate in a guided campus tour, offering a behind-the-scenes look at academic programs, student life, and career pathways in fashion, marketing, and design.
A highlight of the visit is the FIT Museum, which features rotating exhibits showcasing historic garments, modern fashion trends, and innovative designs from around the world. This immersive experience allows students to connect classroom learning with real-world creativity and industry influence.
Then, stop by RiseNY in Midtown (near Times Square) for a multi-sensory experience that includes a gallery dedicated to NYC’s pop culture history, including a section on Fashion. You’ll see museum-quality exhibits that connect fashion to film, music, and the city’s overall creative pulse.
Afternoon
After another classic NYC lunch, have your group explore the intersection of theatre and fashion at The Museum of Broadway in Times Square. The exhibits dramatically showcase the history of Broadway, paying special attention to the original costumes, set designs, and mock-ups from famous productions. The Broadway costumes on display here are a tour-de-force of design, pattern-making, and textile artistry used to tell a story and create a character.
Evening
Then, to fit the theme, enjoy a spectacular farewell dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner. Choose from a delicious and extensive menu while aspiring Broadway stars serve you dinner and sing show tunes! The perfect send-off to celebrate your successful trip to NYC, fill your last night with merriment and artistic expression. After a fun and unforgettable evening, have your group make their way back to the hotel to unwind and rest up before departure day.
Day 4: Departure Day, Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center

Fill up on one final breakfast at your hotel before checking out and storing your luggage.
End your New York adventure on a high note—literally—with a breathtaking morning visit to Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center. As the city comes alive below, students will take in sweeping, panoramic views of Manhattan’s iconic skyline. The ideal setting for unforgettable photos and final group moments together.
Time permitting, enjoy some free time to grab last-minute souvenirs, snap photos, and take in the final moments of your New York City experience. Afterwards, begins your safe journey home.
