Nicknamed “The Dogwood City” or “The City in a Forest” due to all the trees there, being the only large scale city in the United States with this many trees. Atlanta was named “the Place of a Lifetime” by National Geographic because of all the trees and beautiful canopies they create. In addition, Atlanta is home to CNN, Coca-Cola, Centennial Olympic Park, and the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Day 1

Morning – Group departs for Atlanta, GA. Upon arrival you will meet your licensed tour guide at the High Museum of Art. You will then participate in a student workshop and guided tour.

“A walk through the High Museum of Art’s permanent collection is a journey through time and across continents. Collections consist of more than 14,000 pieces and include 19th and 20th century American and decorative art, significant European pieces, modern and contemporary art, photography, African art and folk art.”

Afternoon – Depart museum for Olympic Park where you will enjoy free time and lunch on your own. Continue on to the Federal Reserve Bank Money Museum for a self-guided tour.

Evening – Depart for the Georgia Aquarium Sleepover Program. After everyone has gone home you are invited to participate in an exciting night of adventure and exploration! Your program will include dinner, admission to the Aquarium, guided tours and activities as well as a sleeping spot in front of one of the magnificent gallery windows!

Day 2

Morning – Group arises and enjoys breakfast at the aquarium. Meet your bus and depart for the CNN Center where you will enjoy a 50-minute guided tour. Afterwards you will have free time to explore on your own.

Afternoon – Make your way to the food court and enjoy lunch. Our next destination will be the Georgia State Capitol tour, the primary residents for Georgia’s government. This Neoclassical architectural style building was completed in March 1889.

Evening – The group will check into the hotel and prepare for your evening. Dinner is served at a local restaurant. You’ll continue on to the Sky View Ferris Wheel that towers nearly 20 stories above Centennial Park. The breathtaking panoramic views of downtown Atlanta and the surrounding metropolitan area are not to be missed!

Day 3

Morning – Breakfast is served at the hotel. Group checks out and departs for admission and a guided tour of the World of Coca-Cola. Get a behind-the-scenes look at the bottling process and view hundreds of artifacts.

Afternoon – You will then enjoy a farewell lunch at a local restaurant. Your final destination will be The Martin Luther King, Jr. National Historic Site. This is a self-guided tour to learn about a man who was moved by destiny into leadership of the modern civil rights movement.

Evening – Board the bus and depart for your safe journey home. You’ll stop for dinner on the way home.
