Day 1

Afternoon: Ciao and welcome to Rome! Meet your tour guide at the airport and make your way to your hotel.

Evening: Your group will enjoy a delicious welcome dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 2

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Your first stop of the day will be a tour of the Coliseum, perhaps Rome’s most recognizable structure. Built between 70 – 80 a.d, it was the site of gladiator battles and other Roman events. When you finish your tour, take a short walk East to view the Roman Forum, the ruins of several ancient government buildings.

Afternoon: Your group will have lunch and then visit the Pantheon or the “Temple of the Gods”. This former Roman temple is now a church, and the Pantheon’s dome is still the the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome.

Evening: Tonight you are free to explore and choose where you would like to join. Meet the group later for some gelato and an evening visit to the Spanish Steps.

Day 3

Morning: Meet your tour guide at the hotel and set out for another busy day in Rome! We’ll begin with a visit to The Vatican and then St. Peter’s Basilica.

Afternoon: Enjoy a group lunch before going to the Sistine Chapel. Don’t forget to look up at the ceiling, painted by Michelangelo between 1508-1512.

Evening: End your trip to Rome by throwing a coin in the Trevi fountain. Fun fact: About 3,000 euros are thrown into the Trevi fountain every day! The money is then distributed to charities.

Day 4

Morning: Wake up and enjoy breakfast at your hotel before you depart to Florence.

Afternoon: Arrive in Florence, check in to your hotel, and relax for a bit or take a stroll around the city.

Evening: Your group will enjoy a delicious family style meal tonight.

Day 5

Morning: After breakfast we will go to the Accademia Gallery, best known as the home of Michelangelo’s “David”. Wander the halls and view the works of other Florentine and Italian artists.

Afternoon: We will take a break for lunch, and then your group will go to the historic center of the city to see the Piazza Del Duomo, the most visited site in Florence. Your guide will provide you with the history of the adjacent buildings in the piazza such as: The Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral (the largest building in medieval Europe), Giotto’s Bell Tower, and The Baptistry of St. John. After lunch, your group will the visit Ponte Vecchio, or “Old Bridge”. The bridge appears in records dating back to 996, and unlike every other bridge in Florence that was destroyed during WWII, it is still standing today.

Evening: Tonight you will be free to explore Florence on your own. We recommend visiting Palazzo Vecchio, Boboli Gardens, or strolling through the many craft and food markets the city has to offer.

Day 6

Morning: Make sure you have a hearty breakfast because you are in for a day of fun in the Tuscan sun! You’ve seen the city, now it’s time to see what Italy’s scenic countryside has to offer, and what better way to do it than on a bike tour through Chianti. Your tour will include: a group safety training demonstration, tour of a 12th century castle where you will be able to sample their olive oil and wine (chaperones only!), and of course, a full day of biking through some of the world’s most beautiful scenery.

Afternoon: Bike Tour Continued…Lunch will be served mid-tour at a delicious local restaurant.

Evening: After returning to Florence, enjoy the evening to yourself and get ready to depart for Venice tomorrow morning.

Day 7

Morning: Travel to Venice. Once there, check in to your hotel and enjoy free time before meeting your group this afternoon.

Afternoon: Your group will enjoy an al fresco lunch together before meeting your tour guide for a walking tour of Venice. Your tour will include stops at St. Mark’s Square, Teatro la Fenice, and other hidden treasure of Venice. Of course, your tour would not be complete without a gondola ride through the Grand Canal!

Evening: Enjoy a night of free time in Venice.

Day 8

Morning: Enjoy breakfast before making one last stop in Venice: a Tour of Doge’s Palace, a quintessential Venetian landmark. Established in 1340, the Palace has a unique history, once as a private residence to the Doge of Venice it is  now as a museum.

Afternoon: Your group will make your way to the airport for your flight home. Arrivederci!
