When you finish your tour, take a short walk East to view the Roman Forum, the ruins of several ancient government buildings.

Afternoon: Your group will have lunch and then visit the Pantheon or the “Temple of the Gods”. This former Roman temple is now a church, and the Pantheon’s dome is still the the world’s largest unreinforced concrete dome.

Your guide will provide you with the history of the adjacent buildings in the piazza such as: The Santa Maria del Fiore Cathedral (the largest building in medieval Europe), Giotto’s Bell Tower, and The Baptistry of St. John. After lunch, your group will the visit Ponte Vecchio, or “Old Bridge”. The bridge appears in records dating back to 996, and unlike every other bridge in Florence that was destroyed during WWII, it is still standing today.
